I’m not sure how I missed this but as the title says there’s a addin for Xamarin Studio that supports nuget 2.8.1. Previously the plugin I had only supported nuget 2.7.
I followed the instructions as per the readme on github and had no issues: https://github.com/mrward/monodevelop-nuget-addin
